Default Skin Tone critique

Im doing my editing in iPhoto at this time... in this picture of the Amish boy, I tried lightening the contrast to show more detail in the jacket and folds. Also lightened up the shadows that were under the brim... as a result, the skin tone seems to have gone slightly orangey. Did I overdo it?

not just skin tone...your white balance is off...need to get that squared away first then see where the skin ends up (it should be right if you get the white right) You can then tweak the skin tone if you wanted to make it warmer for example...
