Default Self portrait

I'd like to improve the focus in self portraits which to say the least is pretty difficult. How can I do this? Is the lighting okay? I'm reading Light Science and Magic. I have one speedlight and a 42 inch reflector. I didn't want to use the reflector but after now I think I should have. Is the crop too tight?

I hope I asked all the appropriate questions and posted the appropriate info for a cirtique.

If there is something I havent addressed in my questions feel free to critique that as well.

Hi!
Wow! Very nice. The crop might be a bit tight or maybe the framing just needs to move up a bit so more of your head is in...ah but not a must - its just that lovely green sweater and it's great texture pulls you eye away a bit.
The reflector on the shadow side would have been a nice addition if you wanted to fill in some of that shadow. As it is now, it's pretty classic Rembrandt lighting and looks good so I wouldn't want too much fill. Great catchlights, nice and sharp - lovely!

Thank you for the critique. The sweater is a bit distracting to the eye. Looks like the sweater has better focus than my face . The top of my head unfortunately was out of the frame. Doing self portraits is frusrating I'll try again
