Question It's all about the pedestrians, but can you tell?

Hi!
I'd love a little input...

This is a shot of some random people walking across a foot bridge at Southbank (Brisbane, Australia). A friend and I waited for ages for some people to walk across it as it was quite late at night. I cropped it in to frame them better and edited the colouring a bit also. I have no real idea what I'm doing with regards to post processing and I just use the program that came with my camera.

The people are supposed to be what this pic is about. Should I have made them sharper in focus instead of brighter in colour?

And as for the composition, should I have taken the shot further from the left, so that the lights and roofing were a bit more centered? and...

Does it look too over coloured? As in should it be a bit softer because it's a night time shot?

Thanks for any input, and sorry to sound so needy (and long winded).
I'm pretty new at this, but am absolutely LOVING the learning!
I will add that I quite like the picture, but my husband is not too keen on it, so it most likely all comes down to personal preference.

Nice attempt and a nice angle to capture people over the bridge. One thing which does not work for me is the long shutter speed due to which all the people in this pic appear to be blurr.

The color seem to be good enough..

The first thing I saw was the roof of the bridge. You're right, if you want to feature the people they should be the brightest and sharpest thing in the photo (generally speaking). That being said, I like this image. I like the color, the motion blur, and all. Like you mentioned, it might have worked better if you centered the roof more. Or, put it really off center.

Good job, though. This is an interesting shot.

Default Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input. I think I might make another trip to the bridge and try a few different angles and shutter speeds.

Thanks heaps!

I like the motion blur because it gives the photo "movement". I think if just needs to be cropped in a little to make the people more the focal point. I think if the people were in focus or "stopped" it would ruin the feel of the photo.

I think I would like it better if it was a true blur not the Strobe effect. And keep the reminder in "focus".

This may prove challenging as .it appears the lighting is florescent and introduces the 60 hertz strobe effect.

Now, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. My guess is that the Strobe effect is coming from when they pass under each light and in doing so are better lit therefore better captured by the camera. But what do you mean by keeping the 'reminder' in focus?
(Sorry about being so clueless about this, but if I don't know I have to ask, or I'll never improve )
