Default Shoot out weekend

I had the privilege of joining about 40-50 photographers (most of them pro) on a 2 day photo shoot last weekend. I had a blast and learned SO MUCH. Here's one of my favorite shots from the trip. The sun was against us a bit that morning but some post processing fixed that.

Santee (125)

Camera Nikon D5000
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 200 mm
ISO Speed 200
Flash On, Return detected (SB-600)

It's a bit too red...I would do a color balance adjustment

I would like to see more light on her face. I know you were using the sun as the hair highlight but you are loosing details on her face. Maybe a reflector or a off camera flash through umbrella. IMO.

I tend to agree. Here's a quick edit of how this can be improved just by taking some of that red out. Hope you don't mind that I uploaded an edit of one of your shots. I can remove if it's not ok with you.

In landscape photography, when you shoot is more important than where you shoot.

I can see the difference. Looks much better your way. I'll have to go back and fix it. Thanks!
