Eyes and skin tone

I have been struggling with feeling like I never get a higher quality photo with a great smile or emotion. I did some editing on sharpening. Do the eyes look too fake? How about the skin tone, does it look even enough? Is the lighting on the right side of his hair too distracting?

its a wonderful shot of a lovely kid, and no the hair is not distracting.. displays the personality of this kid and adds to the clumsy nature of kids... ofcourse kids cannot be neatly dressed and hair brushed to perfection all the time

but yea the light on the right side is a little extra..feels like a glow.. but i can see a light source on the right side..that could be the reason...
