I really like the composition in this photo. The line of people looks really uniform without looking staged. I like the exposure, too - the sun is just a little blown-out, but it gives a warm, hazy feeling to the photo. Well done.

if you really want to make it even darker, take the black eyedropper in levels and click it on some of the foreground.

Thanks Dlambert for like my first attempt at silhouette .....I feel the tree at the end also adds value to the picture a lot..

Thanks

@autofocus: Thanks for the tip to make the silhouette even better. I have not processed this in Photoshop and have not used it yet.

But will surely try your suggestion when i get one. Would you recommend any editing software for me, I now just use the Picasa3.

Thanks,
Prashant

Can you tell me the EXIF data on that shot?

It would be very helpful if I ever want to try my hand at silhouette shots.

Cheers

Let me suggest GIMP software, it's a free download, and shares some of the functionality of Photoshop. Photoshop Elements may also be worth getting, but that needs to be purchased. It is, however, much less expensive than the full Photoshop, and it does give you many of the features of the full version. Here's what I did on your already great photo...one simple click with the Levels Tool black eyedropper on part of the foreground. That tool sets a new black point level which darkened the image somewhat, and enhancing the silhouette effect
