Default Lily pouting

My daughter had slipped on some ice, and the last thing she wanted was to pose for me. However: I was determined to get a photo of her in front of that wall, and she was determined to get that expensive lip gloss, so we made a deal (photo for gloss). I like the look on her face. but I am not so sure about the rest. Too much contrast and shadows on her face, or doesn't it not matter? Feelings and thoughts about this photo welcome. (The anger was over 3 minutes later, no worries).

May I comment about the composition? it seems that the horizontal line needs to be adjusted a bit.

also her hat is a bit overexposed in some parts.

Default Lily not pouting anymore

Thanks for your response, and I totally agree but did not pay attention to it - this is great. This is my first time using this critique feature - and getting a response to New York from Kuala Lumpur in just some minutes - love it! Her another shot of her 3 hours later without sun and accordingly much softer.

in this photo, the vertical line is not apparent but it's there, so the photo needs to be adjusted a bit so that the vertical line is perfectly vertical. also there's a case of compressed perspective here - her body hides most of the corner line of the walls, and the lighting is even between the two walls, which takes away the depth of the background.

Hi & Welcome

Love it! I love the attitude and the pout. Ok so the dappled light doesn't make for a pro shot, but this is one of those image that just works for me. You could have repositioned her to avoid that, but then you may have just got the wall right?

+1 on straightening the brickwork. Does a portrait crop work?

Thanks so much Nicola, much appreciated. My daughter liked your comment as well. I checked your blog - some great shots there, and very inspiring!
