Am not sure if I have the focus sharp enough? How I would do it to focus more on the face- using Nikon D3100

Thanks

Hmm. Focus looks fine to me, too. Two things come to mind:

1. It looks like you were using a direct flash? The lighting is pretty harsh. If you're stuck with an on-camera flash, I'd try getting some shots with natural lighting instead.

2. A lot of the action in her poses takes place partially outside the frame because her arms are cut off. If you're sticking with the tight crop, I'd get even closer and make it about her face. Alternatively, take a couple steps back and get more of the action in the frame.

i like the idea and these look fine to me focus and exposure wise. agree with the pp about either pulling back or staying tight. two things for me:

maybe this is just personal preference or prejudice- i hate clothing with sayings on it- but you'll want to keep this forever, i'm assuming, and do you want it to say chill out or whatever it says? makes it far less classic, imo

second thing is- she clearly looks like she's posing- which might be the look you want, but maybe you want a range of more natural expressions- and would have to try chatting with her and warming her up

I agree with Kristen on this point only because I find the wording distracting. Maybe it's the minimalist in me talking, I don't know.

I like that you've achieved consistent exposure/lighting, and all I would want to do with this is take out the "normal" looking images, and keep them all goofy!

Lighting- yes it was on camera flash so will try that next time

Clothing logo- I think I agree it was a spr of the moment thing and as we did it thougt it was 'cool' but on reflection not so...\

They are all posed and think all goofy would give a theme

Many thanks
Will try again taking on oard all support
