Hey guys!
I did a family session last week and I took this photo. I'm wondering about the saturation, exposure and the crop. What do you think about these things? What could I have done to make it better, when taking it & when editing? Any advice/tips is appreciated! ![]() JPG Canon Rebel XSi 18-55mm lens No flash Thanks in advance for comments!

Square crop feels a bit awkward. Did you take the shot rotated, or did you add that? If you did, why did you do it? Aside from that, Increase the contrast and a bump in vibrance after that should make it pop a little more, as right now it feels flat and washed out.
When posting to the critique forum, it's asked that you include the Exif data. I pulled it for you: Exposure 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture f/7.1 Focal Length 24 mm ISO Speed 800 Exposure Bias 0 EV Flash Off, Did not fire That said, why iso 800? Why f7? |

Although I'm no expert, I agree with previous posters about the need to warm it up a bit, and about the cropping of Mum's hair; the cropping of Dad's fingers bothers me less. What makes this pic for me is the impish dimpled grin I can half-see on the kid's face... delicious! A great pic.

Honestly, I was shooting in auto. I never use flash whenever I have natural lighting. Thanks for the advice.
