Default Headshot test

Hey
Im taking headshots for my mates girlfriend and a few of her friends that are doing drama in a few weeks so I thought Id quickly try a test shoot at my college.

Here I used two flash heads to light the background and then just one flash with a soft box to light my model.

How are people liking the shot, and can anyone offer any advice on how I should improve for my shoot with my friend?

Thanks

Carter

The only thing i see right off is that it is a little underexposed. and looks a little like a pasport picture.......has great potentional but could use a tad different angle to make it more interesting i think.

here's a quick adjustment just to show how it is needs a little more exposure, anyway that's what i see on my screen. and brightness varies screen to screen.

As Charity points out, the shot underexposed. Also your lighting is effective...but it's flat. Maybe move the soft box off axis a bit more so you get a little shadow - not a lot just enough to provide a sense of contour. You could consider moving it in closer too, increase the catchlight size. On your background lights... you might want to leave one on the background ans use the other one as a hair light. It will give you a bit more separation from the background. Lastly on the background light, maybe try a colored gel to spice up the wall color. Good luck and have fun...
