Cute pic. Compositionally it's not working for me - they're dead center in the frame, mom's wrist is cut off, and baby's fingers are chopped. I'd have either zoomed out or taken the shot in portrait orientation.

Exposure and BW conversion look good to me.

Just wondering why you went with such a high ISO and fast shutter speed? You definitely could have gone with a much lower ISO and slower shutter speed. When viewed large I can see the photo is a bit noisy from the high ISO which prevents it from looking as sharp as it can be.

Same.

But I do like the bokeh effect you managed to capture in the background

i am impressed that you got such nice focus on what was obviously a moving subject, and two subjects at that, with a wide open aperture. that is very nice. while i like the bokeh in the background, the bright spots are really bright, distractingly so.

otherwise, agree with what Susan said.

Couldnt give a better opinion. Just learnt yesterday.. Chopping of joints is a big no - no. and there is no way you could probably fix this one.. even after you crop the pic just to showcase the faces, the image would still have momma fingers innit.
But yea as susan said.. lovely conversion of B/W.. and good bokeh too
Plues momma eyes are half open. would be neat if they were completly open.. you can hardly see the joy in her face since the eyes are half open.

Baby's eyes are beautiful and they show the real sense of joy and happiness. be careful next time and switch on multishot in ur slr, just to avoid those blinking eyes.

There's a lot going for this picture: the lighting is nice, the subject stands out and the picture's happy theme seems obvious. While the picture may not be technically perfect, I love the natural expressions on the faces, as well as the connection between Mom and baby and between baby and the camera. I'm too busy enjoying their happy moment to notice a cropped finger
