Default How is my lighting?

I recently started with off camera lighting and have gotten some interesting results.

Take into consideration that I have no training (other than what I have read) with off camera flash.

I would like to know what the trained eye thinks of my images: Where I have done right vs. Where I can improve.

Here is a link to the rest of the set. I would greatly appreciate some feedback from these as well, as the image content ranges vastly.

Exif:
Shutter: 1/200
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 100

Very much appreciated.

I don't have a "trained" eye, but I do like what my eyes see. I like the street shots the best. I would prefer if the dancer was lit a bit more, but the effect it is producing now it very cool. Plus the dancer is beautiful.

Like the dancer herself, your lighting is an interpretation of how you feel and what you wish to convey in your image. I think these are well done. I especially like the ones on your link where she is airborne, quite impressive action and capture. To me, the mostly minimal lighting accents the lines of her body position more than would a more fully lit shot which may shift the focus to the dancer herself (face for example) rather than her form. The only thing that catches my eye is the flooring, especially the yellow lines...it looks quite industrial and that clashes a bit with the remaining feel of the images.
I enjoyed your set very much. nice work.

Not that my eye is anymore trained than yours but definitely a great start.

Default Thanks!!

Thanks for the replies! I really enjoyed this shoot.

@zona5101: I'm glad you said that. The term "industrial" actually was said several times during this shoot. The contrast between soft dancer elegance and sharp/grungy industrialization was kind of the goal here.

That's what I felt when looking at your set. Well done if that was your intent.
