Default Helping Hand

I posted this in the family photojournalism thread yesterday because it fit with that theme. Today I would like some input on it. What looks wrong/right, and how could I improve it?
My girls were doing homework so I took the opportunity to sneek a peak. The lighting was bad but I didn't want to interrupt the moment to add light, hence the high iso.

Exposure 0.033 sec (1/30)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 28 mm

I kind of like it. As they say, "a photo should tell a story," and your photo does. Technically, you have some good diagonal lines working for you, rule of thirds used, exposure looks OK. At first I wasn't sure of the molding on the wall, but after more consideration it actually helps connect the two subjects. Maybe I'd consider cloning out that piece of paper on the bottom left of the image. Overall, a nice tender moment of two kids working together and helping each other.

I really like it. Sure the lighting wasn't ideal but it contributes to the realism of the capture - doing homework at night at the table - you wouldn't expect great light. I think the noise and the black and white makes the most of it, and turns it into a positive element. I really like it.

I like it as well. I don't like the hair of the girl with the pencil to get lost in the background. Might try and see if I could pull a slight bit of detail there. I really like the hair light on the girl camera right...i might try doing another image where only she is in the shot... i think it would be a interesting version...

Thanks for your input. I'm just learning and every bit helps. Tucking all of this stuff away for the future.
