Default gig photography

Hello everyone

This is my 1st thread so id like to say Hi and I think this forum is a great idea, apologies if this is the wrong section, if so could the mods please move it for me? Thanks

Now to my point, I am really wanting to get into doing photography at gigs but don't really know anyone to ask so I thought you guys would be right place to go

Basically, I have done 2 shoots so far for a mate’s band and really enjoyed it but id like to go further

I have cannon 1000D with a selection of low end lenses, 18-55, 55-250 and my latest is a fixed 50mm 1.8fn

My main issue is the lack of light which is why I went for the fixed 50

I have found if I crank my ISO up I can get enough light but then my pictures come out grainy

I have attached an example, as you can see what could have been a great shot has IMO been ruined

Check out my photoblog for more examples (slosephoto.tumbler.com)
