I recently did a portrait shoot was geared to be a classic modeling shoot so I thought I would post what I thought was one of the winners from the series and see what people thought.
I am looking for feedback on: Lighting, Pose, Creativity, Editing, etc... I look forward to your feedback thanks ![]() Nikon D200 Tamron AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II LD Nikon SB-900, SB-600 and SB-600 Aperture: f/2.8 Focal length: 28 mm ISO: 200 Shutter speed: 1/60 s Model: Ania A B Makeup: Nicole Blotnick To view the whole series check it out here: Studio Portraits with Ania | One Sixtieth of a Second | Chicago Photography | Chicago Dog Photography | Chicago Portrait Photography |

The focus seems to be off. Your lighting looks pretty good I think a little more fill on her face to bring the her face out of the shadows would help. Focus is the more critical issue here I think. Also 28 mm is somewhat wide for a portrait like this I would have chosen a longer focal length if possible to avoid some of the weird distortion I seem to be seeing. Somethings just off about the proportion of her head to her body. Wide angle lens can do this when you're close to the subject. A longer focal length will compress the image, when used in a portrait I think it gives a more flattering look.
Very pretty model BTW. I'm not sure if shes doing the duck face it kind of looks like it but it could be the wide angle lens. I wouldn't have a model use the duck face but that just a personal opinion. The clothing selection looks good and her pose is flattering as well. Her head may benefit by raising it just a hair and turning just a tad bit more toward the camera. I would have to look through the lens however to see if it looks right. Small movements are key for getting that perfect perspective.

I don't like the way the arm is, it just doesn't seem natural, and also the hand/fingers being clipped. I think a tighter crop would eliminate and solve that problem. The little wrinkle in her shirt next to her chest also bothers me a bit..it's a little nit, but a detail none the less.
