I'm very new to this and need some help. Please leave feedback and let me know what I can do to get better. I really want to learn things so ANY feedback is helpful. This is right from the camera as I don't know how to do any post production stuff yet. I know there are some blemishes that need work, but other than that what would make this better.

I used light from a setting sun that was shining through a glass patio door.

i wouldn't worry about blemishes on kids, it is who they are. Probably the one big thing I see is the squinting caused by the sun in the eyes or maybe she just like furrowing her eyebrows, but in either case it isn't relaxed. The sun is a hard light and throws hard shadows but you have, for the most part, kept them from her face. The exposure on her skin looks just about perfect.

a trick I have found for shooting a subject that is facing into sunlight is to have them close their eyes and give them a countdown so that they open their eyes just before you hit the shutter, I've found you tend to get less squinting as a result.
