Default Crying Boy

Hi all!

Critiques are greatly appreciated. What do you think of the composition and the B/W conversion? It also seems to be on the grainy side too, not sure why.

Many thanks in advance!

Interesting shot... i tried playing with the crop and straightening of the face to get a really half face but somehow nothing jumps out... are you going for the half face cut and white space on the other side like some commercials we see?

if you have more of his right face try straightening the head and playing with the crop, square or vertical and see if you like it... currently if i straighten the head, a lot of hair and bottom gets cut out and it makes it weird... and blur a bit of the background might be nice... right now the face is half but not really half... if you know what i mean...interesting shot but somehow there's something missing that hopefully some other who have tried this kind of shot be able to tell you what...

i really like how you have framed this shot, i think not going for the exact half face gives it a nice twist

as for the grain and B&W conversion i think you have done a great job
