Take 2... Portrait Shot.

It is not the perfect shot... but I stil want to know what everyone thinks. I am doing my best to improve. This photo was taken almost a month ago. We have snow on the ground now. It was edited in photoshop cs5. There were skin correction (tone, and spot correction, and smoothing) techniques used. The focus is a bit off, and the aperture is very large.

Not sure why you used 1.8. With an 85mm, and I am guessing you were about 7-8 feet away? That would only give you about .5 feet as focal length. This explains why the arm on the right is out of focus. You would need to close that down a little to keep everything within the DOF.

Not sure I like the look of just part of the hand on the left side. Maybe bringing the arm down to around the waist?

It also appears the focus spot is around her arm pit area. This is causing some softness in the eyes...

You have a great subject, and are off to a great start... I am sure if you had a reshoot you would have a winner...
