Default First family portrait shoot

This was my first attempt at doing a family portrait photo shoot. We managed to pick the one day this week that was raining, so luckily the rain stopped long enough to take pictures.
This one of many different poses, but one of my favorites. Other then fixing the white balance, this picture is SOOC.

PC148563a

Exposure 0.1 sec (1/10)
Aperture f/3.2
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 100
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash On, Did not fire

The only thing I can think of doing to the picture is cropping the right side some.

looking at it in a larger scale they seem a bit out of focus (nothing they will actually notice).
another thing is the kid's left hand which is hidden, I wish it was visible, I think it would have looked better.
other than that I think it's a lovely photo

I have other pictures that are simmiar where his hand is showing. I will have to see if they are a little more in focus.
thanks.

It looks like you were going for a classic pose, which is great. In that case, I would prefer to see the kid's face a little more triangulated with the other two adults, instead of way up high like it is now.

I'm glad it rained and that it let up long enough for you to shoot. I created some nice lighting conditions for you. When that happens, make sure your models are facing the sun, even though it's hidden behind clouds.

It looks great but you could have crop in close to capture facial expression of your boy,
since he look a bit out of focus.you can also Capture action shots of your kid playing on
the lawn.Next time place your family into a triangle which brings the group together and reduce the
space between each other.Dress in clothes that work well together, but aren't too matchy-matchy.
