Default Holding on tight

I took this picture of my son, finn, while we were hunting for the perfect christmas tree. It was taken around 2pm, I know not the best time for lighting purposes...but i feel like this shot worked?! the only PP done was some exposure and contrast tweaking. any thoughts? is it over exposed? anything i could do to improve this picture? I think I may want to print it for my mom (thats her hand he's holdong) at some point.

nice candid photo
I think the exposure is fine as well as all the other technical issues.

I think it definitely belongs on Grandma's fridge.

Excellent shot. With the shot like this-you can do everything you like. Sometimes I try various croppings and exposings, portrait- and landscape-form, and then choose the best. Anyway- the hands and the eyes are really wonderfull- don´t lose them. As Mr.Jones said, evrythings is still OK. Nice work !

I agree here. This is indeed a cute photo. In my opinion, though, I see nothing that makes the photo pop.

The background is a tad busy for my tastes, and you may want to experiment with curves, levels, B/W, or some other post-processing to enhance colors.

I think this is an absolutely adorable pic! I've done a few really quick edits using free actions from Rita at the Coffeeshop blog. I've included a link to her Flickr group on my photo, if you have PSE and want some great free actions she's the best source I've found.

I started out by cropping this one square to bring the boy's eyes to the upper left third. I then used the heal/clone tools to get rid of the yellow tag as it was drawing attention from your subject. Then I ran the different actions and adjusted the layers to taste.

Gorgeous photo, adorable subject! The crops by Laughlinc definitely enhance it though.
