Default Madame Giselle

So this is a shot my friend, Giselle, at 3am after a recording session at our friend's house. She was half asleep listening to the track I just layed down. I whipped out the camera and 50mm and started taking some "moment" shots. Tell me what you all think

Nice, but not a fan of the angle or the forefront blur. It seems very harsh on the eye.

Had a tough time finding the face and zeroed in on the cap before that!

Hey Chris,
First of all, I think it's an interesting shot. I kind of like the angle. But I also had a really hard time trying to figure out what it was. I think with all the different patterns (her shirt, hat, and scarf) her face kind of gets lost in it all, especially since her face is mostly obscured by her hair. And I don't think the blur in almost half the frame is doing much for the picture either. Also, I find the black thing right under her face (I'm guessing it's fingernail polish) distracting. My eyes kept going back to it; I don't really know why. Maybe it's because there is only one of them in the picture.

Of course, this is all just my own opinion, feel free to disregard it. :P Art is so subjective after all, there are people who would probably love it.

It must have been pretty dark then if you were shooting wide open at 800 ISO and still could get only 1/13!

Lisa
