Default Candid Portrait

I took this candid picture of my uncle yesterday and I was wondering if I shouldn't have cut off his ear. Didn't notice it until now... Also, is the reflection in the sunglasses distracting? Those things worked like perfect mirrors!
Any other help is welcome!

Camera: Canon
Model: Canon PowerShot S1 IS
ISO: n/a
Shutter Speed: 1/60
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 24mm
Flash Used: no

Yes the reflection in the glassed are a bit distracting, because its also not really "interesting". You are very right about the ear, however its no biggie at all....the picture could be a tad brighter otherwise its very interesting...also keep in mind when your subject is looking away..leave space on the side to give "thinking room".

I don't mind the ear so much as I mind the chin being cropped.
I like the reflections, and yes, even though not terribly exciting, the reflections aren't a distraction to me.
So, what I'd have done is either got the whole ear or cropped until the sideburn and not cut off his chin.. otherwise, you did alright.

I agree about the ear & the chin being cropped off, but in my opinion, the only thing wrong with the reflection in the glasses is that it takes away from what the portrait is about........your uncle.
First glance at this photo was trying to see what was in the reflection, my intial point of interest.
I like the "fill the frame" all except for the cutting off the chin............

Thank you all for your help. I didn't even notice the chin being cut off, but now I can see how it's a bother! I'll keep all of this in mind for next time. (hopefully next month!)
