i think its nicely blurred and doesn't bother me- in fact, it s a little mysterious iwth the shadows.
last year, to keep my wild ones in place, i put them on the bed, so they were limited in how far they could go, and i gave them candy canes to eat. quite a mess, but at least seasonal. out of about 250 shots, there was a good one

Our nice xmas card shoot this year ended in tears too - with Mummy acting like a petulant teenager and huffing off out of the room! I bribed mine with chocolate.
Firstly - what a cutie - even if she is cross. I am very new at this, so take what you will but.....do you have the energy to go again? If so it looks like you have nice light in the room but she needs to be facing more to the window so more light falls on her pretty face. As for the background, you could clone them out to make it all white? What were your settings?

it would have been better if there were no folds and the left side of her face lighter even though she is not smiling. just reshoot when she is ready or pp this one by removing the folds and lightening the dark side of her face.

How did you lighten the other side of her face while still keeping the right side intact?

if you're familiar with layers and layer mask, this is quite easy. select all the dark parts either with lasso tool and press Q to put the selected area in another layer. adjust this new layer by using levels until it lightens up to your liking. add a layer mask to this layer and with a very soft brush and about 15% opacity carefully brush the edges to remove the unwanted areas until it blends with the original bg layer. toggle the black or white color to erase or to undo. you can fine tune by using doge and burn and merge with the original.
