Her shoulders seem a little tense did you tell her to pose like this or was it candid?

It looks like you used an on board flash and in my opinion that's part of the problem.

Ok, well a few things (again I'm not even close to a pro lol). it looks soft and I see you had a low shutter speed. Because you were using a flash you should have been able to up that a quite a bit. I don't like the flash point in her eyes. I have no external lighting but i can kind of get around this with my onboard flash buy using my homemade bounce to bounce it off the ceiling.

Next time focus on the eyes, they seem a little soft. Color balance appears off.... Try a little more candid shot and not so tense. Let her have fun! Use a fan on her hair and have her play fashion model. Works great with kids.

1 on the focus and color balance. I know it can be difficult to get the focus, composition, exposure all perfect in a candid shot of kids since they hold still for .00002 sec at a time.
