Default my EYE is on you!

This is a picture I took of my friend. Just got a new lens so I was playing around with a larger aperture. I was wondering about the composition. I placed the eye pretty much in the center of the frame, does it work? Or should I have stuck to the rule of thirds? Also what about the edit? I made it greyscale, bumped the contrast, and used some split toning. Anyway any comments are welcome! Just trying to improve.

Thanks!

Exif.

I like the idea, and you're close.
all you need to do is crop it "half face" right through the nose and half the mouth.
the problem is you don't have a lot to play with as the photo itself is quite tight. if you can, reshoot it better composed and you'll have a great photo!

yea, something like that.
as I said, it feels a bit tight cropping but it's still better

any chance you could post your image here for us to see? Makes it easier for us to critique if we dont have to flip back and forth from one page to another. Thank you!!

I think it would look cool if you used selective coloring. Leave everything in greyscale except for the eye. Just my opinion. Love the idea!
