Default Kids in Low Light Conditions

I took this with my Nikon D3000 without a flash in low light conditions. I'm brand new to digital photography. The settings were 48mm 1SO 800, 1/13 sec and F 5.6. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I think you did very well for shooting at 1/13 without a tripod
it's still a bit blurry but it's ok for a nice usual snap shot. I know it's hard setting all the conditions right for a kids hug.. they usually don't do that when you actually want them to
a couple of thought though:
1. the background is busy, if you can try shooting while considering the background.
2. lightning - you'll get better result if you'll pose them directing the light (which is soft here so you won't get any blinking)
3. turn on the lights! - you'll be able to use a faster shutter speed which will result in sharper images.

good luck!
