Welcome to DPS! It's a great site for learning and sharing.

The kids are cute and it certainly looks like they are cooperative subjects. The long walkway behind them is a distraction because It is so light. You might also want to set up your shot so that you are at their level and you bring the focus closer so that they fill more of the image. TFS and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Once you get down to their head level what you might want to do is set up the aperture at the widest possible setting for the lens (do you have the 18-55mm kit lens?) so that you blur the background as much as possible and really make them stand out.

Otherwise it is a nice shot! A family autumn walk?

As the previous poster said, this is a great place to learn and ask with some really friendly residents who will be more than glad to help you! I only started a couple of months ago and thanks to their help I have been able to learn alot.

Look out for tutorials on this site's forums and main page. I just bought the book "Understanding Exposure! by Bryan Peterson, still in the mail, hasn't arrived yet, I've been told it is a great book for beginners like us!
