Smile Quick check in.....

I have been merrily playing, but have not posted many images recently. I learn so much from your critiques, I just want to check I am on track.

There is one thing that bothers me with this image, but I don't want to say incase it doesn't bother anyone else ;-)

Any areas to improve?.....

is it that the texture seems overly prominent?

+1 on the texture inssue...
at first I thought it was hairs on the face but looking closer it looks like someone actually scratched the photo.
can you post it without the texture? it really looks like a great photo.

I agree about the texture. I like the idea of the texture but I think it needs to be toned down, especially on the faces.

The only other thing that bothers me is the lady's neck.. not bother per se, just that I keep going back to it when I view the image.

While I'll agree with the others that the texture is too prominent, what really stands out now, and I'm afraid would still stand out even if you toned back the blending/opacity, is the wide vertical "slice" down the woman's face. Most of the rest of the texture seems very fine, like scratches, but that one is thick like a deep cut.

OK, no spider webs, better, but. . .

I still find the poses unflattering because they both have —er, prominent necks. His head looks disembodied on that fuzz-ball shirt. Also, he is squishing her nose down, and that flat hair. . .

Apologies, but the photo is a real turn off to me. However, if they like it. No problem.
