Default Spontaneous Portrait

I took this a few days ago, just hanging out with friends. I wasn't too sure about the composition. I trimmed some off the right side to bring focus to the girl walking away. What do you guys think? Also, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about the B&W conversion. I originally shot this as RAW in color, and then selected the default "Monochrome" in Canon DPP. After that I adjusted using curves as usual.

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T1i
Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture f/2.5
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 100
Exposure Bias 0 EV

the B&W in good. very nicely balanced.
but that's all there is in this photo. sorry if I'm blunt but what am I suppose to see here? feel?
a photo is suppose to invoke a feeling, happy, sad, angry, compassion... something. and here I get nothing. sorry.
am I missing something?

technically it's good. the exposure is correct, the shutter speed is exactly the right speed to freeze the moment and you chose an f/2.5 which is nice and gives you a blurred background.

Nick, I have to agree with Mr. Jones on both counts. Technically the B & W is good, with nice depth and contrast. However there doesn't seem to be a story of any kind here. The young woman is walking away but there's no connection between her and the young man. They just seem like two random strangers who happened to be caught in the same shot. If he were looking toward her, if it looked as though he were bothered by her departure, then I would be intrigued, wanting to know their story. I do look forward to seeing more of your work!
