Default sportin' the new black hat

This is a photo I took of my daughter. I am pretty sure I managed to get the eyes in focus this time. Correct me if I'm wrong. I really liked the eyes so I cropped it real close. Too close? Did I follow the rule of thirds? And I played around in photoshop with the levels. Really not too sure what I'm doing with that. Just mess around until I think it looks good.. So I would love feedback on that. Too dark? Too light? Thanx for looking and for any and all feedback!

I think this is an awesome photo! I really like the tight crop, and it looks like her eyes are on the third line, so I would say good on this as well. The focus looks great, you have got nice even lighting, and it looks well exposed. I love the colors too. You might not think you know what you are doing with levels, but I think it looks great.

Of course, I don't know much, so you probably shouldn't trust me. If someone says something contrary, listen to them.

You have a beautiful daughter, by the way. Nice job!

Sheila, i really like this one- its well lit and i like the crop. re ROTs- looks to me like you've got the eyes right on the line, so i'd say yes you're following. also nice composition giving her some space to look into. Maggie (is that her name?) is one patient girl! she has beautiful eyes, too.

don't sell yourself short, carlyfan. your critiques are very insightful and i think you have a good eye. the technical aspects are one thing, but the artist part is something not everybody has.

Thank you Kristen! Appreciate the nice feedback. Yes her name is Maggie...you are so sweet to remember. Yes she is a very patient model as I study this very detailed craft.
Thanx for looking!

I like it! Really nice job. Only thing I'd do is clone out the pinlights from the flash, but that's a nitpick of mine.

Thanx Susan! I appreciate it. And on second look at the eyes I agree. Makes her look a little creepy!
