Default Questions

I have always wanted to post somthing here but wanted to wait until I thought I had exposer focus composition etc at least close. Am I as close as I think in these areas and if not what needs to be changed or adjusted. the thing that is making me crazy is that I think the exposer is ok here but the histogram is pretty well bunched on the left side.No spikes going off the left side. This may sound stupid but is this because im using studio lights that are affecting the Histogram becuase when the histogram looks ok the actual shot is completely blown out. Thanks for your imput.

The histogram is to the left because of the black background and darker areas of the photo - the camera is "seeing" a lot of dark areas, so the histogram reflects that.

Focus and exposure are perfect.

yup what Susan said. The higher the peak the greater the count of pixels at the color/greyscale point....

Whatever your histogram shows, that's a beautiful photo and your exposure looks great.

If I can make one suggestion to this very nice photo is that looking at it on my calibrated monitor I feel the skin tones need a little tweaking. I took the photo over to PS, did a quick one click levels adjustment with the white eyedropper using the catch light in his right eye as the source and it brought it up beautifully. Doing that also helped distribute the curve of the histogram over to the right where the original had some room for adjustment. But to reinterate..a very nice photo

Here you go Ty...actually, I used his white t-shirt as my source for the eyedropper. It was a very quick edit
