Default I think I finally got it?

Okay, I shot this today of my daugher raw. I did all post is lightroom. So, my question is- did I finally get it or not?? Would this make a nice print?? I did notice one spot on her face, but other than that I think its pretty decent. I want it to look as naturally as possible, so I didnt do a lot of clarity, etc... I just got my 50mm and trying to get used to it..

I love it. Her eyes are magical, thew drew me in and held me. I would most definitely print it. Great job.

This is really gorgeous! I love the out of focus grass on the bottom of the frame. And the eyes are spectacular. You have a beautiful daughter. The only thing that bothers me a little is the yellow thing in the background. Getting clean backgrounds is one of the things I struggle with the most, but it really makes a difference when you get it right. Nice job!

Edit:
I just looked at the full sized photo on flickr and it looks like the focus might have just missed her eyes, but it's hard to tell. I wouldn't really be the one to ask about this. Did you sharpen the RAW at all?

I did overall sharpen, but not just specifically on the eyes.. Should I sharpen just the eyes as well?? I looked at the AF points and I did miss the top eye. got the bottom eye toward hand. One of the things I am trying to work on with the 50mm which is hard.... I try to focus on the eyes and then recompose, so not sure if I am getting it...

beautiful shot.
I agree with carlyfan that the yellow thing is in the way. also, I think it might have been better with less grass and a bit more space at the top, as the grass takes almost half the photo.
great job overall!

oh, yes, i believe you did nail it. i think it's beautiful. i personally would crop out some of the grass so as to focus more attention on your lovely child.

just a comment re focusing and eyes and such: you might try using a center point focus instead of the autofocus- lock that in on the eyes and then recompose. with an aperture of 3.5 and your child in this position- both eyes in the same plane vs the camera- you will then be very likely to get both eyes in focus.

why use the center focus point and not the one closest to the eyes?
