Would love a critique that will help me learn more.

Keep in mind the model isn't a pro she was a friend helping out.

it's a nice shot with a potential pose actually.
a couple of things though:
1. you're shooting at focal length of 17mm. that will surely cause distortion which will be unflattering on a model.
2. usually try and avoid shooting fully bended knees as it doesn't come out flattering and will give the model "fat thighs" which you certainly don't want.. unless you want her to hit you
3. you cut of her hand in the middle. even her nail.. that's a big "don't do".
4. I think you should crop it tighter to get some of the blown out sky out. it doesn't add to the photo and actually takes away from it.
5. do a little level adjustment to live things up.

again, those are mistakes we all make, don't feel bad - just learn to avoid them next time.
