Default Holy Communion Day

Could someone please tell me what i need to do to fix this photo? Ive looked at it for that long now, Im not sure what esle i need to do? It was taken with a Nikon D60 at my sons Holy communion. I am still learning how to work my camera, so any critisism would be aprreciated. Thankyou

well, first of all it's not straight. straighten it by the stairs lines or give it a sharp angle.. just not like now when you can see it's by mistake.
focus, his face just doesn't seem to be sharp, and neither other parts of the photo. I don't know if it's the treatment you gave it in PP but it got that blurry feeling.
cropped feet - why did you crop his feet out? and if you're cropping body parts out - never at the joints, it just give an unflattering look.
other than that, I like the harsh colors in the background but he seems too red, try working with layers and take of that redness from his face and arms.
