This man is a fantastic subject. The lighting looks like it wasn't ideal, but I expect you had to shoot when the opportunity presented itself. Nice shot.

Light can be very harsh in Cambodia unless early in the day or late evening so yes sometimes you have to take what you can get. Thanks for looking and commenting..appreciated..

Personally, I think it is a d*mn good shot, with the lighting perfect for the scene/subject. It looks like a National Geographic shot. It is hard light, but this is perfect for showing his musclature and for demonstrating the harsh conditions he endures.

There are two things I might consider helpful. First, renaming the photo. "The Fisherman"? He might be a fisherman, but the photo does not suggest fishing to me (unless he is holding some weird fish I've never seen before). In fact, I am curious about what he is really doing. So a bit of story would seem to help. Second, I think maybe some of the top of the photo could be cropped out. By cutting the top by maybe 1/2" to 3/4" by scrolling on my monitor seems to shift the emphasis from the entire scene (the lake, the boats, the tree, etc.) to instead making me look where he is looking -- at the end of his brush, or whatever that is. I like that.

Good pic!
