Feedback would be great. Is this photo a "portrait" if her face isn't showing?

One definition is "A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person"

I personally would call this a portrait because it conveys a mood.

I really like the style this was shot as. It has a "dreamy" feel to it with rich colors. Technically speaking there are many blown out highlights but I personally think it works well in this particular situation. My favorite thing are the dits on her nose from (assuming) light coming through open spots in the hat.

One thing that does catch my eye that I wanted to mention was her arm cut off on the side of the frame. Sometimes it can be acceptable depending on the pose but in my opinion it is a bit distracting and takes up half of the left vertical side. I do understand close framing would mean cutting off the end of the hat which is definitely a no no. Maybe just a bit different pose would clear this up, but again this is all just my opinion.

Overall I really do like the shot, keep up the good work!

I agree with Cola. I want to see her arm. I'd also be curious to see what this would look like converted to b&w.

wow, you've got some great colors there!
the only thing really bothering me is the arm like the others have said. also I really want to see her face.
the colors in this photo are very happy colors, I would expect to see a happy person with a lit up face, the dark thoughtful mood just doesn't seem to fit with the colors.

Posting in the critique section requires a bit more work than posting in some of the other areas. I'm giving you a link to the read the guidelines so you'll know what should be included within your posts. Please let me know if you need any help. Thank you

Can you please re-size this so it it no larger than 740?

It looks like a portrait to me.
