Default Composition

Hi There,s

I always had this thing to capture people from behind. I am more interested in my composition. Would you say its a good composition.

Nikon D40
Lens 18-200mm
Focal Length - 130mm
Shutter - 1/80 sec
ISO - 800
Exposure - F/5.6

well, you're shooting people from behind on a blank background. the edge isn't going to come from the expression or colors so why not give it an angle to make it more interesting.
I've edited it a bit, hope you don't mind.

Honestly, it doesn't do anything for me. There's just no connection, especially with the plain background. I've seen other photos taken from behind but there is some connection; for instance, a person walking towards something interesting. Not to sound harsh, but this appears like the model turned around for a moment and you clicked the shutter accidentally before she walked into a wall. Not sure if I'm making any sense, lol. Perhaps if she'd looked over her shoulder at you the pose might have been more pleasing.

1/80 is a pretty slow shutter speed. There's motion blur on her left hand and left butt cheek.

One other thing, and this is just nit-picky, but the bright white tights just bring my eye right to her butt. Being a woman myself, that's the last part of me I want someone bringing a lot of attention to.

I too love shots from behind particularly with children & couples. However I agree with what others have said w/ the white background it feels flat. There's no context for the photo.
