I got my new 50-135 2.8 lens last week... I must say thus far I'm disappointed with the results, but given all the reviews I read before purchasing I'm thinking it's user error as opposed to the lens.
This was in the shade yesterday (sun had gone behind the house & the treeline) about 4:30ish... I did lighten it a bit in post-processing... My frustration is that my photos still seem flat... I can't seem to get that pop... I don't have any composition questions b/c it was 3 kids w/ candy... Any settings that should have been different for that "POP"... I'm trying to increase shutter speed for taking shots w/ kids however I needed to keep it open b/c there was no direct light. ![]() Exif data Camera Pentax K10D Exposure 0.006 sec (1/180) Aperture f/2.8 Focal Length 50 mm Focal Length 50.0 mm ISO Speed 200 Exposure Bias 0 EV Flash Off, Did not fire

Thank you Gabriel... perhaps my $ would have been better spent on an external flash...
... next purchase.I agree it's a lighting issue... aside from having an external flash is there something else I could have changed on the settings? I don't shoot in RAW... almost always jpeg. I think the saturation is ok in this shot... the colors are so bright on the costumes & pumpkins I wouldn't want to bump it up much.
