Default Not very sharp.

I took this just the other day. It's not very sharp at all but I like the way that it looks. I'm not sure why or why it is that I like that about this photo. I want to know what you guys think. Is it just a case of bad taste? I know the shutter speed could have been faster but I really wasn't ready for the shot.

I like the poles and the play with light and shadow they bring to the photo. I would use it and add contrast to the photo to really emphasize the black & white stripes you've got there.
adding contrast will also help with the motion blur.
I love the photo, just wish you used a faster shutter speed to capture him really sharp.

Kind of hard to tell from such a small photo, but it does appear that the focus fell on his elbow and arm that are closest to the camera. That part seems the sharpest.

I changed it a little.

it feels grayish. there are no true black or whites in the photo, just different shades of gray.
in my opinion a B&W photo should always include true white and a true black.
I've edited it a bit to show you what I mean, hope you don't mind. just an unsharp mask and full contrast in photoshop.

You're shooting with the 135L nearly wide open at f/2.2. That's going to give you a relatively narrow DoF, even shooting from a distance. You've front-focused--look at the bricks at his feet. I'd actually have recommended increasing your iso and stopping down a little. You'd still have plenty of out of focus blur even then.

I'm sure he's a regular here at Barnes & Noble. I will catch him again! I studied him a little while he was walking. I noticed he turned around like this allot. :}

Still looks like the elbow/forearm closest to the camera is where the focus fell to me, that area looks sharper than the feet/bricks. I could be wrong though (but don't tell my husband I said that. )
