Default The DJ

I took this shot at an event a while ago. I really liked the way it turned out. I was actually standing very far away so I think the focus is a little soft but other then that how's the composition, color the shot in general? I was shooting in both heavy shade and bright direct sunlight so some of my setting may be weird.

The exposure looks good to me! It appears the focus fell on his chin, though, it's the sharpest part of the photo. It is a tad soft overall but that's most likely due to such a slow shutter speed. There's a weird red cast on his neck; were there red lights?

Not trying to sound harsh, but honestly, if you hadn't said he was a DJ I never would have known...he just looks like some guy with headphones around his neck looking away from the camera. Perhaps if you'd zoomed out a bit and shot in portrait orientation to include his DJ equipment, it would have created more interest and the photo would have told more of a story.

LOL...good point guys. I KNEW he was a DJ so of course he just looks like one to me but if you weren't there I guess you'd have no way of knowing.

I have DJ friends so I can tell he is a DJ by his posture with head phones. But general viewers might not be able to.

Like others mentioned, show more of the enviroment.
