Question Journey through childhood

I took this yesterday when I noticed my daughter, in the green, and her friend goofing off. I really don't know what to ask specifically except where can I improve? I tried to fix the lighting in the background and on the friends face which was darkened.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you for looking!!

Nice idea of an ephemeral time.

You might want to crop it closer and blur the background since there are lots of distractions. Did you crop your daughter’s head out or is that the shot?

Unfortunately that is as shot. I was trying to get the camera up fast enough before they caught me taking pictures. And sure enough I was able to get this one and one other before they stopped.

The blur is a little more defined that it should be around the arms. Maybe you could feather it a bit more. Looks like they were having lots of fun.

Yep, you overdid the blur!

I'd suggest getting the subjects to act funny again and re-shoot this outdoors in the grass. The tile floor is very distracting.
