I think I know the type of shot you're talking about. I've never tried it, but I've always liked it. I think for that, the photographer is usually closer to the wall, (like right next to it) looking down the wall to the subject. So the closest part of the wall is really out of focus. I like this shot though. I like her expression. Some people probably won't like that her eye is obstructed, but I kind of like it. You can still see her eye through the gauzy stuff. Nice job.

I think you definately have the right idea, but a couple of things I would change. I would have cropped it (or taken the pic if you didn't crop) so she wasn't so close to the right side of the wall. Where she is standing facing the left, it feels a little funny to see so much wall on the right side of her. If you were doing a full body shot, I would agree with the standing closer to the wall, but where it is more close-up, I would have left the blank space (or wall) on the opposite side of her. I don't care for the mesh in front of her eye, but that is just my opinion. And she is very pretty!

With a model as beautiful as she, very few will notice the wall. You want all eyes on her so the wall is merely a prop. I think the image is nice but I agree with Lisa that it seems awkward that she is facing left so close to the left edge of the photo. Also I usually try not to compose so that I chop off the top of the head.
