I think it looks great! Not all pics have to be perfectly exposed to look good. I like the overall look of the pic just the way it is.
I'll tell you something, if you like it, don't let anyone else talk you into not liking it just because they're photography snobs :-) |

. um....welcome to the forums?First of all, she posted her photo in the CRITIQUE section. Generally when people post their shots for critique they wanna know what, if anything they need to do to improve their shots or post processing. You know...because they want to LEARN and IMPROVE their photography. So she asked for it, and us "photography snobs" are gonna give it to her.

Manjila, it is a very nice photo. However, it is underexposed. I bet if you brightened it up a bit you would be happier with the result! Good job and TFS! |

Its definately underexposed. I have a hard time seeing her face, but from what I see she is beautiful. And I bet would make for beautiful portraits. The bright white light (a window?) on the left really takes away from the whole picture, and even if the picture was brighter, I think that would still be a huge distraction. There is also a blur on the bottom right. Its hard to give you tips on fixing this. If it was shot in RAW maybe you could lighten and fix the exposure a bit. Or if you get the chance to reshoot, check your settings. Great try though!

i'll agree; she's very pretty and i'd like to see her face better. next time, ask her to turn to face the window so the light falls on her face. when she is sitting with her back to the window, your camera gets fooled into thinking there's a lot of light. which there is, but it's not on what you think is important- her face. the camera doesn't know what's important. so in this position, you could force the flash to fire- or you could ask her to move around as i mentioned above. and/or use a reflector as pps have mentioned.
