Default New to this

Most of my work for the past 2 years (since I started taking photos) have been landscapes and nature photos. Because of the reading about street photography here. I wanted to give it a go. I was at a festival and taking pictures of people onstage. when I turned around behind me I caught this without time to adjust my camera. Have I over done the processing in Photoshop?

ok, the eyes seem to be in focus which is a good thing when photographing people. the observer eye naturally goes to the eyes in the photo so they need to be in focus.
other than that, i can't understand why you chose to stand where you did. you've got that bush in the way, blocking a part of his face. you've got the wall and the grass and the kid in the middle which really really doesn't do it for me since you have no DoF plays there. plus, you're taking the photo from behind so it just feels weird.
I would try cropping it tighter, leaving just his face and the puppy.

I appreciate that. I din't have time to move and still get the shot the child stood up immediately after I took the photo, but the bush bothered me as well. the original was pretty washed out in color due to the fact my camera was adjusted for a shadow covered stage and I just happened to turn around at the right time. I'll give the crop a try and see if I like it better. Thanks for the input.
