The last rites.

Took this at a Hindu funeral. The son touches the feet of his father with his forehead as he pays respect and homage to the departed soul.

Looking for critiques on composition and the B&W medium thats been chosen. Or for that matter would appreciate any comments on the picture.

It’s a really great idea. Unfortunately, I don’t “feel” the emotion here because of the angle of the shot.

Did you take others?

What about trying a sepia tone?

I agree with photologyst ... Not a very good angle, I had to read the description to know what was going on... A picture should speak for itself... I like the lights and B&W

The composition loses the intimacy. Seems underexposed. Very little shadow detail.

I think if you crop in tighter you might solve some of the angle issues... Eliminate a big chunk of the pillows in the front. I find tighter shots express more emotion.

Is this the only shot you have? I think it would be neat to see the focus on the son, and compare the two.
