Default Bakugan!!

Hello. I took a shot of my nephew playing with his Bakugan and would like some critique as to composition. Focus choice and anything else that could be added to improve the shot.

Thank you!!

I like the idea but not the fact that the main subject is a bakugan. If I did not know what that toy was it would confuse me more. Maybe reversing the photo with the toy being blurry and the child in focus. Lighting is good and colors to. Just my opinion.

I definitely like this concept - very different and unique!

I might like less of his hand in the shot. That is just a simple crop.

Cute :-)

And that particular one is called Aquos Neo Dragonoid

I'll have to ask my son if i got that right

Nice shot but would have preferred to see more of the boy's face and then the arm leading to the main subject. Whatever a bakugan is :-).

Bakugan? Learned something new today.. as for the shot.. I like the idea of keeping your nephew OOF but that his face is covered by the toy.. doesn't go well with me... might want to try a different angle too rather than having the main subject smack in the center..

Photo looks lil dull.. may be some contrast and color boost will help..

I like your concept..

i don't agree with prince about color being dull, it'se really vivid, any more contrast boosting would make it overpowering in my opinion.

Hi everyone!! Thank you a lot for all the feedback!! I don't know much about Bakugan yet, my son is too young to play with them and my nephew is still too young at 3 years of age. I guess it is for children a little older. It is some kind of card game that comes with these figurines in form of a ball that transforms into monsters. There are some different elements and bakugan related to them, like air, fire and so on.
I really liked the idea of them and my nephew loves his. I took this shot really quick because with children it is very hard to get any kind of shot. I guess it came out allright from all your comments. I'll keep in mind for next time to try both types of focus, one up front and one in the back of the picture differentiating the main subject so I can compare and pick the one that is most interesting. Thanks a lot!!!
You've got to love DPS for all the feedback we can get to improve our photography!!

Have a great weekend!!!
