Default Attention Elsewhere

I took this portrait of my daughter unposed as she was watching TV. The light was all natural coming in from the window. This is my first submission for critique so I'm a bit nervous but since I'm pretty new to photography, I figured its the only way to learn. I'd appreciate any comments on composition and lighting but specifically is there any post-processing I could do to improve it?

Shutter Speed: 1/200
Aperture: 5.0
ISO: 3200 (I know its high but wanted to use the natural light)

Hello JaxD,

Nice shot! I'm not that much into portrait photography, but I in my opinion the picture is a bit underexposed. Below is a suggestion of mine: increased exposure with curves; made a slight noise reduction and sharpened using high pass layer (all these functions within Photoshop).

I agree, increase the contrast as well. I would like to see some jet black and pure white in the picture. Like the composition.

Although I could see increasing the contrast, I think the remixed version is too much... it makes her look ghostly instead of natural, IMO.

Agree with wejustin, I like the composition but would like to see a little more contrast, nice photo.
