My friend asked me to take some photographs of her. Please look at the photo posted here, as well as my set on Flickr, and let me know what you think.
These photos were taken using sunlight only. No extra lighting, and no flash. Taken with Canon EOS Rebel XSI 18-55 lens View the set at Nicole Photoshoot October 2010 - a set on Flickr |

I have mixed feelings about this shot. I like the idea that you had in mind (I think) but I am not sure about the execution.
The pink flower that is out of focus on the foreground is distracting because of how bright and big it is. But what bothers me the most is that the girl looks unnatural with the PP. I think her teeth a way too bright and there is too much contrast in her eyes... looking at the shots you've got up on Flicker, there are some really good pictures that look controlled and well put together, but I would be careful with PP. |

I think her pupils are out of round most likely from PP. The left one especially.

I'm not taking any of this personally. I'm using the critiques to better my skill. I know I have A LOT to learn.
The out of focus flower was an idea I had that looked good at the time, but didn't have the effect I was hoping for in the end. The work on a few of them are over-done, but that's because these are pageant photographs, and because of that Nicole wanted to look this way in a few of the shots. (I call it looking plastic). I agree...the teeth and eyes are way over-done. Nicole was there beside me guiding me on what she wanted. I did as she instructed. I do have more photographs from this shoot. I've not had time to upload and edit them yet. When I get them uploaded, I'll post a link here because I'd like you guys to take a look at them and let me know what you think of them! ![]() Thanks for the feedback from everyone! I appreciate it a lot. |
