Shutter Speer: 1/40

this is my friend playing a guitar.. just some quick snapshot.. didn't really think about it so I didn't really have a goal on what I'm trying to achieve. I know it's really really bad so what can you guys say or will do to improve it anything harsh is welcome too I also find composing with portrait shots difficult

I like the composition. A little out of focus though.

Hi,
It's a little out of focus as mentioned. You need to try and check the background as a cluttered one is distracting. Try and get the eyes in focus. This is always a great starting point.

I definitely agree with dave. I know it was a snapshot but you always want to make sure of your background, I really like your use of DoF by having the guitar out of focus like that, by having the background less distracting and having the eyes in focus I think this would have been a really good shot.

The white balance, I think, is fine. I like the warm tone from the WB. Just the focus is a problem! :-)
