My attempt on using framing under tree shades. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

Let me be the first to remind you to check the rules for posting (exif data, etc).
As for the pic, I don't feel you acheived what the title suggested. In the first shot you have her dead center which makes me think she is the main subject. So why can I see her clothing but not her face?
For a setting like this I think I would have had her leaning on the bike (following the rule of thirds), looking out over the water, silhouetted. To me having a silhouette facing the camera is a conflict of interest.

it would not be possible to include exif info as i took it with a cell phone

Thanks for composition critiques, I'll need that to keep improving. I'm learning, actually only a few days of getting into learning basics of photography. My Canon 550D just arrived this afternoon and I'll post relevant exif info next time.

Thank you for clarifying windrider86. Yes, I guess I was specifically asking for critiques on framing and composition of the provided picture. How can I improve it to be more pleasing, where and what I did wrong, and what did I did right?

like Lee said, either go with full silhouette or go with fully visible face. you can't go in between.
another things that is distracting is the bicycle at the bottom.
I think this photo would have worked way better with fill flash to show her face.
